TROPIC PURE PLANT BEAUTY

In response to the need to find out more about natural products I have been using the tropic range.  These products are not only natural but also suitable for vegans.

The products were launched by Susan Ma who you may remember from The Apprentice.  She didn't win but after the show Lord Sugar backed her business.

I am pleased to say that I am so impressed with the products that I have signed up as an Ambassador and as such you can now purchase the products from me.  At present you will need to place the order by email or phone but in the spring you will be able to purchase via this site online.  I also sell the products the same way via my facebook page.

Please bear with me whilst I get the brochure/information onsite over the next few days but I' so excited about the products I just had to share now!

Skin Deep

A large part of the work I do involves the skin and people often ask me about skin products.  Although as a homeopath I promote the fact that skin is affected by what we put into our bodies, I am equally aware that we want to take care of our skin from the outside too.  There are an amazing amount of skin products out there and I do not pretend to be an expert in this field. However, I felt the need to look into products more closely and found to my dismay that the ingredients being used in most products can actually being doing us more harm than good.  Some ingredients for instance in a lip balm actually dry the skin out and we then need to reapply more and more.  Other ingredients are know to be carcinogenic.

Dreaded coughs and colds

Pulsatilla seems to be the remedy of the week.  Lots of coughs and colds within my house right now and we have all responded to Pulsatilla 30c and 200c very well along with vitamin C and some rest!  Why Pulsatilla - because of the keynote symptoms of feeling better for fresh air and worse in the evening, our symptoms have changed from ears to throats to chests and back again,  the need to sit down but feeling worse lying down, tearful, clingy children and all wanting cuddles including me!

BACK TO SCHOOL by Tracy Brewster-Brown 20 September 2013

September can be a time of excitement as children return to school to catch up with their friends.  However all too often the excitement turns to tiredness and dismay as they discover that their new teacher shouts, doesn’t understand them or is less sympathetic than the last or that their best buddy of four years suddenly doesn’t want to play with them.  Puberty sets in and the girls in year 5 and 6 start to feel akward, disgruntled, frustated and irritable and friendships start to fall apart.  Tiredness soon kicks in and then come the coughs and colds to boot.  Younger children may be on their first steps into school life and find the larger environment of school along with larger groups of children, daunting showing their stress/insecurity with emotional outbursts or signs of physical illnesses such as coughs, colds, tummy aches, headaches, clingy behaviour and tantrums. Homeopathy can be very helpful in re-establishing the equilibrium.

Some of the helpful remedies for the emotional response to this time are Pulsatilla, Nat. Mur, Ignatia, Calc Carb, Silica and Lycopodium.  First Aid remedies for coughs and colds include Pulsatilla, Belladonna, Aconite, Ferrum Phos, Spongia, Drosera and Mercury.  Consider what may have triggered the episode i.e. was it emotional response to starting school or did your child get soaking wet the day before in which case Belladonna may be a good choice.

If you have a remedy kit at home then the booklet that comes with it can be a really useful guide at this time along with the book The Complete Homeopathy Handbook.  If new to homeopathy or just unsure about home prescribing book in to see a qualified homeopath which will ensure a well informed prescription based around the individual characteristics of your childs needs.
